Easy Halloween Marshmallow Pops – An Easy Trick or Treat Recipe
When it comes to finding fun and unique trick or treat ideas, I am always on the lookout for something different. We don’t get many trick or treaters around our house, but we do participate in local Halloween events where it is ok to bring homemade treats like Halloween Witch Cookies and these fun Marshmallow Pops. Everyone knows everyone and being in a small town, homemade treats are not frowned upon like larger areas. Seeing the excitement on the kids’ faces when they see a colorful, fun treat is priceless.
These GIANT Marshmallow Pops are not only vibrant and colorful, they taste pretty darn good too. Who doesn’t love sweet chocolate on top of gooey marshmallows topped with more candy? That is a triple win if you ask me. Wait until you see just how easy they are to put together too.
Ingredients and Supplies You Will Need
- GIANT Marshmallows
- Colorful Candy Melting Chocolate
- Green and Brown for Frankenstein
- White for Mummy
- Pretzel Pieces (for Frankenstein)
- Popsicle Sticks or Sturdy Straws
Instructions
Melt the melting chocolate according to the package directions. I used green for Frankenstein and bright white for the mummy.
Decorate your GIANT marshmallows however you like. For the mummy, I cut the tip off of a decorators pastry bag and piped his “wrap” across the marshmallow in 2 different directions to make it look like a wrapped mummy.
For Frankenstein, I coated the entire marshmallow in green melting chocolate. Dipped the end in brown almond bark (this is what I had on hand and it works great). I used the tip of a butter knife to help the chocolate drip over the edge for his hair. Once the chocolate was dry, I dipped the end of a broken pretzel into the green melting chocolate and stuck it to both sides of his head.
I found candy eyes in the baking section, those were put on Frankenstein and the Mummy using a small amount of melting chocolate.
Using the same brown almond bark, I piped his mouth and stitches. You could also use an edible food pen to decorate his face. These edible food pens are great for decorating so many things. They even come in a variety of colors. If you wanted to make some ghost pops to go with Frankenstein and the Mummy, you could also use the edible food pens and draw ghost faces right onto the giant marshmallows, or decorate cookies in a spooky Halloween theme. Just a few more fun Trick or Treat Ideas.
For another cute novelty item, cover the marshmallow in colored chocolate, add some fun candy sprinkles and a plastic set of fangs, or a spider ring. These are great for adults too. A unique addition to your dessert table.
Find yourself with tons of leftover marshmallows. Here are some ideas to use up old and leftover marshmallows.
