Rae Dunn Inspired Valentine’s Day Ornaments
Rae Dunn Inspired Valentine’s Day Ornaments were the perfect addition to my Valentine’s Day tree. Yes, I said it, I now have a full size Valentine’s Day tree. After Christmas, I decided to keep the tree up and adorn it with all things red, black and white for Valentine’s Day. I must say I am very happy with it. A full tree, lit with bright white lights just brings joy to any room.
I found these adorable red hearts at the Dollar Tree. They were the perfect size and shape for my tree. Since I already had lots of red, other colors were needed to balance everything out. Since they only come in red, it was time to break out the chalk paint and give these cuties a makeover. Here is how I did it.
How To Create A Rae Dunn Inspired Valentine’s Day Ornament
What you will need
- Plastic Heart Shaped Treat Containers
- Chalk Paint I used White and Black
- Paint Brush
- StyleTechCraft Glossy Craft Vinyl
- Transfer Tape
- Valentine’s Day Ribbon
- Twine For Hanging
How To Assemble
Putting together your Valentine’s Day Ornaments is actually very easy.
Start by covering the entire heart container in chalk paint. I had to do two coats to cover it completely.
Using your Cricut or Silhouette cutting machine, cut your Valentine’s Day Inspired words on StyleTech Glossy Craft Vinyl. If you don’t have a cutting machine, you can purchase letter stickers from Dollar Tree also or from Amazon .com
The font that I used was a free font called “The Skinny” from Dafont . com.
Use your transfer tape to transfer the words to the center of each Valentine’s Day Ornament.
Add a fun ReFabbed bow to the top and some twine for hanging.
You can use this method for just about any style of ornament with a flat surface. The personalization possibilities are endless.
