StyleTech Craft Design Team – 2019
Over the last year, I have been blessed to be a part of the StyleTech Craft design team. As this year is coming to a close, we were asked to share what our favorite product was to work with for this month’s project. After careful consideration and much debating, I have come to the conclusion that I can not pick just one. For the purpose of this post, however, I am going to showcase the glossy craft vinyl. I chose glossy vinyl because of its versatility and durability. If all else fails, you can count on the glossy vinyl for almost all of your vinyl projects.

DIY Money Gift Idea For The Person That Has Everything
Every year my husband’s birthday creeps right upon us, and every year we run out and buy his favorite candy and some article of clothing from his favorite sports team. This year I was tired of the same old boring gifts that we get him each year (as I am sure he is also) and I wanted to change it up and do something fun and unique.
To say that it was a hit is an understatement. I got many “That’s so cool” and “Wow, we should have pizza for every birthday”. I will take that as a total win.
This DIY Pizza Money Gift can be made using supplies you have at home, or you can cut out almost all the parts using your Cricut Explore or Silhouette cutting machine and some glossy craft vinyl from StyleTech Craft. From start to finish the whole project took less than an hour. Most of the time was spent making the “dough” even and in a circle. Here is what we used.
Supplies To Make A Pizza Money Gift
- Blank Pizza Box (We got ours from a local pizza shop, but you can also get THESE from amazon)
- Vinyl Cut Outs using StyleTech Craft Vinyl or Stickers
- White CardStock
- Red CardStock
- Cheap Scotch Tape (The good stuff is too sticky, I didn’t want the money to rip)
- Lotto tickets or other fun add ons
How To Make A DIY Money Pizza
The process to put together this DIY Money gift is fairly simple. Start with coming up with your wording. I liked the phrase “The Best Part Of The Pizza Is The DOUGH“. Dough meaning money. I used my Cricut Design Space to create the words and transferred them to a plain white piece of cardstock. Place that cardstock on the inside of the lid so it can be seen as soon as they open the pizza.
I also used design space to make the pizza and the word pizza on the front of the box.
Decorate it however you would like. I found a really cute FREE SVG cut file from My Designs In The Chaos that I adjusted to what I needed.
I lined the inside of the box with red cardstock. Representing the sauce on an actual pizza. I arranged the $1 dollar bills evenly on an 11.5 inch round circle that I also cut out with my Cricut, so it was a perfect circle.
Using scotch tape, I placed a few long strips across where the dollar meet to secure, and a folded piece of tape under the dollar bills to stick it to the circle.
Roll $5 bills and place them around the edge to represent the crust. Please ignore the fact that I was one $5 bill short and had to use a dollar bill. My son called it budget cuts. I secured the $5 bills with another rolled piece of scotch tape.
For the toppings of the pizza, I cut red circles for the pepperoni and placed them on the quarters. Scatter around some circles cut in green and black vinyl for the peppers and olives.
These are just some suggestions on how to decorate the money pizza. You can add any “toppings” that you like, or none at all.
I hope you all enjoyed this DIY Money Gift as much as my hubby did. I can’t wait to come up with other creative ways to gift money for the upcoming holidays.
