A few times a year my husband and I like to take an overnight trip to a popular resort close to home. It is our way to reconnect and spend some quality alone time together. Recently, planning those trips have gotten a bit more stressful for me and have made me a little anxious due to adult incontinence. Four kids later, I know this is very common and manageable with the right products. I have discovered that with TENA intimates® Overnight Underwear I can still enjoy our much needed weekend away without worry. Hover over the image below to see where you can purchase TENA intimates Overnight Underwear and take back control of your bladder leaks and feel confident, dry and protected on your next overnight trip.
Packing For An Overnight Trip
I don’t know about you but when it comes to packing for an overnight trip, I have a tendency to overdo it just a bit. It has taken me a long time to figure out a system for packing efficiently, saving space, and still having everything I need for a fun, exciting and romantic weekend away. I have compiled a list of 8 Packing Tips that will help you plan and pack for the perfect weekend or overnight getaway. This list is complete with a FREE printable checklist at the bottom of this post. Print it out, check it off and keep your mind focused on more exciting things.
1. Planning is key
Planning for your trip is crucial to packing successfully. It doesn’t matter if it is an overnight trip or a week-long vacation. Staying organized and planning what you will need ahead of time will make your packing go so much smoother. Don’t wait until the last minute to throw together your suitcase. Decide which outfits you will want, how many pairs of shoes, which perfume to pack etc. Know your vacation and know what your needs will be.
2. Don’t Over Pack
This kind of goes along with planning. Everyone wants options when they are on vacation. Instead of packing three black shirts, pack one black shirt and a few different accessories that might take up less room. A couple of fun colored scarves or a beautiful necklace can change one shirt into three different looks. Which will save space in your suitcase.
3. Pack Bulky or Heavier Items First
Pack your bulky or heavier items such as shoes, jeans etc first in your suitcase. It will be easier to fit things in and around the bulkier items instead of trying to fit the bulkier items around your delicates or valuables. To save space, you can also put things INSIDE your shoes. I usually put my socks and underwear inside my packed shoes to save a little space. Some people actually place their jewelry inside their socks then put the socks inside the shoes. That’s a pretty smart idea.
4. Wear Your Bulkiest Items When Possible
Whenever possible, wear the heaviest or bulkiest items such as jackets, boots and bulky sweaters. This will make room for many other things in your suitcase. Trying to get a pair of boots comfortably in your suitcase is quite a challenge. Wear the boots, pack the pretty strappy sandals.
5. Rolled Clothes Save Space
Whenever possible, roll your clothes before placing them in your suitcase. Rolled clothes save space when packing. Be sure to smooth them out before you roll them for fewer wrinkles. Layering thin items together before rolling will also save you space. Place a tank top on top of a button-up shirt, smooth, then roll it up. This is also a good way to keep like items together for a complete outfit.
6. Pack Toiletries According To Your Vacation
Let’s face it, we don’t really need a full bottle of shampoo or conditioner while we are on vacation, so why pack a full bottle? You can purchase everything you need in trial or travel sizes. If you would like to use your own personal products, invest in reusable bottles and simply fill them with what you will need. Place any liquid in a resealable plastic bag separate from your clothing in case something spills or leaks. Pack your toiletries and personal care items separate from your everyday items. I like to use the inside pocket of my suitcase for personal items, including feminine care and bladder control items such as TENA intimates Overnight Underwear (See below the benefits to using TENA intimates Overnight Underwear as well as great savings from CVS for October and November).
7. Keep Your Clothes Smelling Fresh
Keep your clothes and intimate apparel smelling fresh and clean by placing your favorite unused dryer sheets between your articles of clothing. This will make your clothes and your suitcase smell fresh and clean for your whole trip.
8. Use A Checklist When You Travel
We have already covered how staying organized is beneficial when traveling. Using a checklist to make sure you are prepared and have everything you need is highly recommended. This way you are sure to remember everything you need for your stay away. If you would like a FREE printable checklist, click the image below.
