Scentsy wax warmers are all the rage.
I think everyone I know has a decorative tart warmer in their home, most of my family has multiple. I personally own four. I have two in the kitchen, one in the bathroom, and one in my living room.
If you own a Scentsy brand tart warmer or another brand, odds are you like to change the wax from time to time. Or maybe you like to mix scents to keep your room smelling fresh.
Never heard of Scentsy wax before? No worries! I’ve got you covered. Below is everything you need to know.
What is a Scentsy warmer?
A Scentsy wax warmer uses wickless candles that are made of bars of scented wax. When the wax becomes warm it releases a fragrance into the air.
The Scentsy brand is a great way to keep your home smelling delicious. The brand offers wax warmers, oil diffusers, and air purifiers. Today we’re going to focus on other wax warmers.
In 2004, Heidi and Orville Thompson took a simple, safe concept and turned it into an award-winning international fragrance company. They provided a family-friendly business opportunity to hundreds of thousands of Independent Scentsy Consultants around the world.
Today, the company loves to connect people to their memories — and each other — through fragrances, wax warmers, diffusers and portable scent systems (plus dozens of home, personal care, kids and pets products).
Will any wax work in a Scentsy warmer?
Unfortunately, no. You shouldn’t use just any wax in a Scentsy warmer. If you want to get the most out of your warmer, I recommend sticking to Scentsy brand wax only. if you’re just getting started, below are a few of my favorite Scentsy wax bars that you can buy on Amazon!
How often should I change my Scentsy wax?
There is no one-answer-fits-all for this question. It really depends. But die-hard Scentsy users say to change them every few days. Some say as often as every four days. Others say you can go up to six days.
How to remove wax from a Scentsy warmer
Changing the melted wax can be a messy task unless you know these 2 Easy Ways to Replace your Scentsy wax.
The first tip to replace your melted Scentsy wax is my personal favorite.
While the wax is still warm, use a cotton ball to absorb all of the liquid. Toss the cotton ball right into the trash. NO mess!! Your warmer is now free and clean of all previous scents.
The second way to Replace your Scentsy wax with no mess is to replace it after it has hardened. Even when the wax hardens, it can still be stubborn and not come out easily without the help of a butter knife or sharp tool.
To avoid all of the mess from breaking it into pieces, simply pop your warming tray into the freezer for 10 minutes. The wax will shrink and slide right out of the tray. No messy crumbles and no sharp objects involved.
Do you use another method to Replace Your Scentsy Wax with NO Mess? I would love to hear other tips from all of you.

great tips Heather I use the freezer trick for candles but love the cotton ball idea thanks so much for sharing
Yes the freezer is awesome for candles too. Especially if you want to save the jar. Shrinks the wax right up!
What a great idea! I’ll have to get me one of those and try it out!
I am shocked to hear that YOU don’t have a tart warmer. You always have the coolest home goods! You must run out and buy one!
My daughter has two of these so thank you very much for the tip on how to clean them.
You’re so welcome! So much easier this way.
After wax has Hardened turn warmer back on for a few minutes. Turn off. Hardened wax slips right out. No mess!
After wax has hardened, run upside down under hot water for a few minutes. Wax slips right out
My supervisor at the office gave me one today plus the pods. Can I just leave it in the plastic container the wax comes in? Thanks
No, I wouldn’t do that. If you leave them in the plastic pod and try and heat it, it might melt!
