Tuesday Tips – Kitchen

It’s time for Tuesday Tips! This week were going to focus on things in the kitchen. I could probably go on forever  with a list, a long list of things I need to deep clean in the kitchen. But as always, start small and build  up.
You don’t want to get overwhelmed doing everything at once.
That is how we get “bored” with the project were tackling.

Don’t forget to use your timer (mentioned last week in Tuesday Tips)
Turn on your music and get to it!

Burnt Pans – If you have really stubborn  burnt on food, or a pan that has lots of residue cooked onto it, here is a solution to make it sparkle!!
Mix together baking soda, vinegar and water. Let your pan soak over night in the solution. They will be a breeze to clean the next morning.

Sponges – Here is 2 great tips for sponges!
1. Did you know sponges carry bacteria? lots of it! You can kill that bacteria simply by tossing your wet sponge in the microwave for 2 minutes! Always lay a paper towel down under the sponge. Some sponges are made with plastic fibers that can melt. So be extra careful when removing them.
2. Get DOUBLE the use out of your sponges, simply by cutting them in half before using them. Lets face it this makes total sense! We all use the edge of our sponge more than we do the whole thing anyway. Double the sponges for the same price!

Garbage Disposal – Lemon juice and hot water will kill any odor coming from the disposal. I also like to toss my lemon rinds in the disposal and grind them up. This also takes away the odor I think even a little better. *If your disposal is older and not so durable, stick to lemon juice and water.

Refresh those wooden cutting boards
Wooden cutting boards that get used often can have a grimy build-up on the surface. To refresh your cutting board, cut a lemon in half pour a good amount of salt on the board, and use the lemon like a sponge to scrub off any old residue. Next, use a scraper to scrape up the salt and lemon mixture. Last, rinse with water and set out to dry.

Al tho this is not in the kitchen usually , I thought it was important enough to add to this weeks tips:
Pet Hair Removal from Carpet– (Moved furniture and did a deep sweep this week and I think I have enough dog hair to create a whole other dog! YUK!!)
Use a squeegee to remove pet hair from your carpet! Genius! Im am going out tomorrow to buy a squeegee! Reno (the 4 legged son) is shedding so bad right now, I’m kind of looking forward to winter so he stops LOL

There ya go .. this weeks Tuesday Tips to keep your home clean and neat with minimal effort! I am the first to admit I am not the best housekeeper and I hate to clean LOL So any little tips or tricks to make things easier or faster I’m all for!
