Pink Hawaiian Cocktail
If you like sweet tropical drinks, I am sure you have had or at least have heard of the Blue Hawaiian cocktail. I love a good Blue Hawaiian, but I wanted to put my own twist on it for this week’s Summer Cocktail Series. Since I am a huge lover of all things pink, and I am sure even drinks taste better when they are pink, why not change the traditional from blue to pink. Just a few simple ingredient changes and you are all set to enjoy the refreshing, sweet and oh so delicious Pink Hawaiian Cocktail!
The Pink Hawaiian Cocktail
By changing just a few ingredients, you can take the classic Blue Hawaiian cocktail and turn it from blue to pink. Without losing the delicious tropical taste we have all grown to love. The biggest change, of course, is the color. Switching Blue Curacao for triple sec and grenadine is really the only major change. The classic coconut and pineapple sweet flavors are still very dominant even in the pink version.
The Recipe
- 1 oz. White Rum
- 1 oz. Triple Sec
- 1 oz. Cream of Coconut
- 1 oz. Grenadine
- Pineapple Juice
- Cherries, Pineapple Slices and cute Tropical Umbrellas for garnish (optional)
Combine the rum, triple sec, cream of coconut and grenadine in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Give it a good shake to mix and chill all the ingredients.
Pour into a hurricane glass, top off with pineapple juice.
Garnish your glass with a cherry and a pineapple wedge if desired. Don’t forget the paper umbrella! Every tropical drink needs a paper umbrella.
There you have it! The sweet, tropical mix now known as the Pink Hawaiian. If you are a fan of sweet and creamy tropical drinks, you will not be disappointed with this one.
Tip – If you would like to cut back on the sweetness just a bit, reduce the amount of grenadine and add a splash more white rum.
Tip – Look for Cream of coconut in the squeeze bottle. If you find it in a can, and it has separated, simply give it a stir with a wire whisk to bring it back together.

Make it in Bulk!!
Having a party and need to make a large batch of these amazing Pink Hawaiian Cocktails? No problem! Simply mix all of the ingredients with the exception of the pineapple juice in a large mason jar. In the one pictured above I did 6 oz rum, triple sec, cream of coconut and grenadine. Mixed together in a large Mason Jar. To serve I filled a glass with ice, pour half the glass Pink Hawaiian mix and topped it off with chilled pineapple juice. It was perfect and was the hit of the party.

Wow these looks sooooo good. I absolutely love your pictures too. I also use large mason jars as shakers.
