It is so nice to have a touch of normalcy back into my life! These past few weeks have been hectic and chaotic with the move and changing all of our habits and routines completely around. I decided I needed to take a break from all of the chaos and focus for a minute on something, or rather someone that means the world to me. This week was Mother’s Day, and my Mom’s birthday. I knew I needed to do something a little extra special for the most loving, caring, thoughtful woman in my life. When I found the new Coca-Cola Share a Coke and a Song bottles at my local Giant Eagle store, I just knew I had to share one with my mom #ShareMemories. The fun song lyrics that are shared on the bottles made it exciting. The hardest part of all was deciding which bottle to pair with this super cute Sheet Music DIY Photo Frame.

Once I picked which two bottles I wanted to put in with her gift (of course I had to use TWO since I couldn’t come to a decision on ONE), it was time to get crafting. Personal gifts are my favorite kinds of gifts. Gifts with thought and love put into them just mean so much more to the giver and receiver.

I wanted to incorporate the #ShareMemories theme, and music notes just make everyone happy, don’t you think?

“We are Family” and “I Love You This Much” 20 oz. Diet Coke® Bottles (You can get your Share A Song by downloading the Shazaam App available on iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Android and other devices) sheet music, a photo frame, and pictures of the grandkids were paired together to make this lovely Sheet Music DIY Photo Frame. A perfect gift idea for someone special in your life. Here is how we put it together…

Sheet Music DIY Photo Frame!

Supplies:

• Sheet Music (you can find books at your local library to make copies of, print them off the internet, or ask a friend who’s lovely daughter is in the band at school like I did)
• Coffee for dying (optional)
• Wooden photo frame
• mod podge
• paint brush
• glitter
• embellishments (ribbon, stickers, buttons, gemstones etc.)
• Photo for the frame

If you want to keep your sheet music white, skip steps 1 and 2.

Step 1. Soak your sheet music in brewed coffee for 3 to 5 minutes. I just used leftover coffee from the morning.

Step 2. drain off all the liquid and place your paper on a baking sheet into a 200-degree oven. Keep an eye on the paper until it is dry and stained from the coffee. It only took about 15 minutes for mine to be completely dry. Do NOT leave the paper unattended, it could catch fire if left in the oven for too long.

Step 3. Working in small areas at a time, apply Mod Podge to the photo frame.

Step 4. Cut or tear pieces of the sheet music and stick it to the frame where you have the mod podge. Repeat this process until the whole frame is covered.

Step 5. Brush on more Mod Podge on top of the paper, covering it completely. Don’t worry it will dry clear.

Step 6. Add your embellishments and photo to the finished product once the top layer has dried.

My love for music runs deep. A simple song can bring back wonderful memories of childhood days, school days, good friends, fun times, even sad times. The effect  is powerful!
