Mother’s Day Dollar Tree Crafts
For this month’s challenge, we all decided to put together something sweet for Mother’s Day. I decided I wanted to do some sort of picture or wall hanging. There is such a wide variety of frames and pictures at the dollar store, it was an easy starting place. I also used my Cricut cutting machine and StyleTech Craft Vinyl to add the vinyl letters and give it a personal touch. Here is what you will need to make this adorable Mother’s Day Gift using Dollar Tree items.
Supplies Needed:
- Picture frame
- Basic Puzzle (I used a 24 piece puzzle from the Dollar Tree)
- Decorative Paper for the background
- Vinyl Letters (You can also buy Alphabet Stickers on Amazon.com to use on your frame)
- Acrylic Craft Paint
Directions:
Before you put your frame together, do a quick measurement on the inside piece of glass. Cut your letters out using your Cricut cutting machine, weed, and transfer your design using transfer tape. If you do not have a Cricut cutting machine, you can purchase sticker letters on Amazon.com or any other craft store. Dollar Tree might even have some in their school supply sections.
Place your coordinating decorative paper behind the glass.
Use your acrylic craft paint to paint over the image on the puzzle pieces. You may need to do 2 or 3 coats of paint to completely cover the image.
Hot glue your puzzle pieces evenly centered below the wording.
I added “MOM” to the center of the middle puzzle piece to make sure it was a Mother’s Day project.
That is all there is to it. A very simple, quick, and adorable dollar tree craft for Mother’s Day.
