Beautiful holiday decorating doesn’t always have to cost a fortune. Sometimes a few craft supplies, a little imagination and some empty wine bottles will do the trick just fine. That is what crafter Tiffani (who is also my beautiful and talented baby sister!!) had in mind when she upcycled these plain boring wine bottles into a stunning holiday decor piece. Crafting with wine bottles can be so much fun. If you don’t have any empty wine bottles laying around, go ahead and get some …. it’s ok we will wait!

Supplies you will need:
- Clean, empty wine bottles
- Spray paint – your favorite color(s) (Look for paint that works on glass when purchasing)
- Vinyl Decals (optional)
- Acrylic Craft Paint (optional)
- Floral Sprays or accent greenery (optional)
- Ribbon or twine
- Glitter (optional, but let’s face it all holiday decor deserves to sparkle!)
Directions:
Clean and dry each bottle thoroughly.
Spray paint each bottle with your favorite color spray paint. 2 or 3 coats should cover the bottle nicely.
Once the paint is dry completely decorate it however you like. Tiffani used the word JOY and replaced the O with a hand painted snowflake. She also did another set with a silver sticker in place of the O.
Decorate the neck of the bottle with ribbon or twine all the way up to cover the rest of the glass.
Add some berry or floral sprays inside the bottle itself to match the colors if you like.
The possibilities for this project are endless. You can match your decor, your theme, or personalize a special set for your gift giving this holiday season. Be sure to check your local Dollar Tree store for holiday decorations as well. A lot of the items seen in our Holiday Crafts were created using inexpensive materials.
What would you decorate your bottles with?
Crafting with wine bottles is not limited to just holiday decorating. You could simply match the color scheme of your home and add in a nice small arrangement of flowers the rest of the year.

So pretty Heather. I love the JOY ones. Looks like fun for the kids to get involved in too!
I think this is soo pretty and for some reason it touches my heart..I think it’s the red berries that do it for me. The hand-drawn snowflake is excellent so I see talent abounds in your family.
Great decorating idea!
Thanks Julie! They are lots of fun to make too
You can turn them into a Chic flower vase, you can simply add freshly plucked flower into a glass bottles and fill it with water to keep your room fresh throughout the day, or you can also use them as creative centerpieces; spray paint the glass with vibrant colors and use stencils in order to make them standout.
