We are always looking for something quick and easy for dinner around here, but it still has to taste good. This Korean Beef Recipe will satisfy every ones appetite and it only takes 15 minutes to make. If you are a fan of sweet and heat, you will love this. We make it with just a bit of heat so the picky teens don’t complain. My husband adds a little more kick at the end to make his hot as heck! You can adjust the heat level to your taste very easily.
Most of the ingredients in this recipe are pantry/fridge staples so it should be pretty easy to put this Easy Meals recipe together with minimal effect to your budget. When I am working on my Menu Plan this Korean Beef recipe is one of my favorites to add, especially on a busy weeknight. It’s also a great meal to use up leftover ground beef.
Korean Beef Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds lean ground beef (or ground bison)
- 1 Cup brown sugar
- 1/2 Cup soy sauce
- 1/4 Cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
- 1/2 Tablespoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust this to your taste for heat level)
- vegetables (optional) We like to add broccoli, cauliflower or snap peas sometimes all 3!
Directions:
In a large skillet on medium heat, brown your ground beef with garlic and onion powder. Drain off the excess fat.
*TIP* Line a bowl with aluminum foil. Spoon or drain your grease into the bowl. Once the fat has hardened, lift the foil from the bowl and toss in the garbage. Easy clean up !
Reduce heat to medium low, Mix remaining ingredients into the ground beef mixture. Simmer for 5 minutes, just to cook it down a bit and let the flavors marry together.
Serve over rice or in crisp lettuce cups.
