For this St. Patrick’s Day DIY, most of the items that I used were from my local Dollar Tree store. I have included an Amazon link for your convenience to similar items that can be purchased.
Here is what you need for the personalized St. Patrick’s Day DIY Candy Mug!
- Glass Beer Mug
- Butterscotch Hard Candy
- Cotton Balls
- StyleTech Craft Glossy Craft Vinyl
- StyleTech Craft Ultra Metalic Glitter Vinyl
- Cricut or Silhouette cutting machine (optional)

cutting machine (optional)The process is fairly simple to decorate the outside of your mug. I have a detailed tutorial HERE on the “I love you more than coffee” coffee mugs.
I find most of my designs in Cricut Access in the design space. If you have a subscription, there are over 100 thousand FREE images for your personal use. I chose a cute pot of gold with the word LUCKY on it. Actually, it originally said “Lucky Me!”. I used the contour feature to remove the word ME and left it just saying “Lucky”. I thought that was a bit more fitting for the outside of a mug.
I used clear transfer tape with grid lines to keep the whole thing straight when applying it to the glass.
Once I had the design exactly how I wanted it, I filled the mug with butterscotch hard candy to represent the beer and topped it off with a handful of large size cotton balls.
It was that simple to make, and it will make an adorable gift for anyone. There are so many designs to chose from in Cricut Design Space, the possibilities are endless when personalizing these adorable inexpensive mugs.
