When my girlfriend brought me home a gift of Truffle Sea Salt from her vacation, I was stumped at what to try it in other than on fries and in a sauce. I decided to add it to this already rich and creamy dish, and boy we were NOT disappointed. The addition of the truffle salt really made this dish what it was. It wasn’t overpowering or too salty it was just perfect! Now I need to invest in my own jar of this wonderful concoction! I want to try this in so many other things.

Beef Stroganoff Made Simple!

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds Lean Ground Beef (or ground bison)
  • 1 Tbs. Fresh Basil
  • 1/2 tsp Truffle Salt (you can use regular sea salt if you don’t have truffle salt)
  • 2 Cups Beef Broth (or a beef broth substitute)
  • 1 Cup Sour Cream
  • 2 Tbs Flour
  • Mushrooms (optional)
  • 1 box Pasta Cooked to al dente

Directions:

In a large skillet on medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess grease. Add the truffle salt and basil, stir to combine.

In a small bowl stir the flour into the sour cream until there are no more lumps.

Reduce heat to low. Slowly add the beef broth and the sour cream  flour mixture into your ground beef.

Let simmer on low for at least 20 minutes or until it has thickened. The longer you simmer, the more intense the flavor.

Serve over warm al dente pasta (egg noodles are traditional with stroganoff, but your favorite pasta will work just as well).

Have you ever used Truffle Sea Salt when you cook?  Have you ever tried it in a restaurant dish?

If you are as curious as I was to give this tasty seasoning a try, you can get it from amazon.com! Yes! I’m totally serious! I am placing my order this week. I have so many things I want to try it in now.

  1. I’ve never heard of this salt. Of course, with my allergies I avoid using a whole lot of salt on/in anything. This looks like a delicious recipe. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
