Crafting with my Cricut has become my go-to way to craft lately. When I find a project that I love, my first thought is how can I make this with my Cricut to make it easier and cleaner. These adorable DIY Paper Four Leaf Clovers were no different. I remember gluing hearts together when we were kids in art class to form a “Lucky 4 Leaf Clover”. Using the Cricut to make a grown-up version was my goal for this project. I am pretty happy with the outcome, and it was easier than you might think.
If you don’t have a Cricut cutting machine, these four-leaf clovers are simple enough that they can still be cut by hand. The basic shape is 4 stretched hearts connected in the center to form the four leaf clover. You could also use just three hearts to make a traditional St. Patrick’s Day shamrock.
How To Make DIY Paper Four Leaf Clovers – An Easy Cricut Craft
Supplies:
- Cricut Cutting Machine (I am using The Cricut Explore Air Model)
- Green Cricut Cutting Mat
- Cricut Spatula
- Green Glitter Cardstock
- Floral Wire
- Hot Glue Gun
How To Design Your Clover in Design Space
Begin with a New Design window in Design Space
Click on SHAPES and select the heart
UNLOCK the heart image and drag the green + downward and to the left to stretch the heart to your desired shape. Once you have your heart the shape and size you would like, right click on the heart and then DUPLICATE the image.
With your duplicated image selected, click FLIP, and FLIP VERTICAL to flip the heart upside down.
Click and drag your duplicated image so the points of both hearts are slightly overlapping. Remember this will be the centers of your leaves, you don’t want the center to be too narrow. Once they are overlapped, click SELECT ALL in your design space taskbar. Once both images are selected, click ALIGN then CENTER HORIZONTALLY.
With both hearts still selected, click the WELD function in the bottom right corner on design space. This will weld the two images into one.
To create a scoreline, click the SHAPES button and select SCORE LINE. Resize the scoreline to fit inside your cloverleaf by clicking and dragging the bottom right corner.
Drag the scoreline to the center of the cloverleaf. Once it is in place, be sure to SELECT ALL and click ATTACH. This will tell your Cricut machine to score on top of the image. DUPLICATE this image. You will need two of these for one Four Leaf Clover. You can cut more than one set at a time, just DUPLICATE however many times you need.
You are now ready to cut and assemble the Four Leaf Clover!
Assembling your DIY Paper Four Leaf Clover

Separate the clover leaves from the mat. Fold along the score lines.
Place a generous amount of hot glue in the center on the backside of one leaf. Insert the end of your floral wire into the hot glue before it cools.
Attach the second cloverleaf on top of the first, creating an X. Gently bend the leaves upward to form your clover.
You can use the steps in this Easy Cricut Craft tutorial for so many shapes to create so many different designs.
Add Your Paper Four Leaf Clovers To Gifts
I found these cute little pots in the gardening section at my local Dollar Tree. They reminded me of a “Pot of Gold”. I placed a small piece of floral foam in the pot and filled it with chocolate caramel candies wrapped in gold foil. I poked the Four Leaf Clovers between the candies into the floral foam. Wrapped it up all nice and pretty with a cute little tag. This will be a fun gift for the girls at work. Their very own LUCKY pot of gold!
These Paper Four Leaf Clovers are even adorable all on their own. Place them in your wreaths, or on your holiday table as a centerpiece. There are so many things you can do with them.
