Instructions
For Cocktail
In a large cocktail shaker combine your alcohol (rum, tequila, vodka, gin, and Blue Curaçao) and shake well. You want it to almost froth.
Pour your cocktail into a Collins glass or highball glass over ice. Garnish a lemon wedge and a maraschino cherry, or two. (You really can never have too many maraschino cherries!)
For Homemade Sour Mix
In a small saucepan on medium heat combine the sugar and water. What you're doing here is making a simple syrup. There are lots of different varieties of simple syrups when it comes to cocktails. But water and sugar are the foundations for most.
Stir your sugar and water until the sugar is completely dissolved. This is important. You also want to watch your pan closely, because as you know: sugar burns easily.
Remove your simple syrup from the stove and let cool. Then pour it into a glass container.
Add your lime juice or lemon juice to your simple syrup and mix well.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for the next time you need to make a perfect cocktail.
Notes
Make Them Frozen! My favorite variation of this cocktail recipe is super simple. It’s perfect for a hot summer day. Simply put your cocktail in a blender and slowly add ice. Grind until you’ve reached the consistency and cocktail strength you prefer. If you want to get really fancy, sprinkle the top with shaved coconut and wait for the impressed faces of friends and family to light up!
