What is Sun Changing Vinyl?
StyleTechCraft Sun Vinyl is a UV reactive vinyl that changes from off-white to color when it is exposed to the sun! This fun color change vinyl is great for outdoor items, car decals, water bottles, coolers and so much more!
Available in four colors: Yellow, Pink, Purple, and Blue.
Outdoor Planter Made Beautiful Using Sun Changing Vinyl!
I gave a plain, boring terracotta planter a complete facelift using bright teal paint and three different colors of StyleTech Craft Sun Vinyl. Yellow, Pink, and purple sun vinyl looked perfect against the bright teal. I even loved it when it was just white before the change took effect.
Supplies used:
- Large Terracotta Planter and base
- Bright Teal Paint
- Paint Brush
- StyleTech Craft Sun Vinyl Yellow, Pink, Purple
- StyleTech Craft Glossy Craft Vinyl Black
- StyleTech Craft Transfer Tape
- Design Space Cut File “Bloom Where You Are Planted”
- Cricut Joy
- Cricut Tool Set
DIY Outdoor Planter Using Sun Changing Vinyl!
After finding the perfect cut file for my planter, I arranged, cut, and weeded out the design. I chose to alternate colors with the sun vinyl.
*Tip change the colors inside design space before cutting so each color cuts together on the same mat.
Since this design was small, I used my Cricut Joy to cut each color.
Once each color was cut and weeded, I covered each piece with StyleTech craft Transfer tape and positioned it exactly where it needed to be on the planter.
After everything is added to your outdoor planter, it is time for the magic to happen! Take your decorative pot outside in the sunlight and watch the change, almost immediately! It happens so fast, you will be delighted.
Don’t worry, it only takes a little bit of the UV rays to change the color of the sun vinyl. Even if it is nighttime, the white/off-white color is still beautiful, and will make all of your pieces shine!
