Baked Ziti Recipe - Make Ahead Freezer Meals

Ingredients
  • 1- 1 pound box ziti
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 3 jars of your favorite spaghetti sauce
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 1½ cups mozzarella cheese (separated)
  • ½ cup Parmesan or cheddar cheese
  • ¾ cup sour cream
Instructions
  1. Boil pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown up ground beef. Drain off the fat. Mix in sauce and let simmer 5 minutes to heat through.
  3. Ladle 1 large spoonful of your sauce on the bottom of the pan and spread it around. This will keep your pasta from sticking.
  4. Pour half of your noodles into the pan
  5. Lay 6 slices of provolone cheese on top of the noodles. Covering as much of the noodles as your can (Add more cheese if you like)
  6. Spoon your sour cream on top of the provolone cheese. spreading over as much of the pan as you can.
  7. Spread half of your sauce over pan
  8. Add the remaining half of your noodles
  9. Sprinkle 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese over your noodles.
  10. Spread the remaining sauce over cheese.
  11. Top your baked ziti with ½ cup mozzarella and ½ cup parmesan (or cheddar).
  12. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 – 40 minutes until cheese melts and the edges are browned.
