DIY Glitter Holiday Lanterns!
Making your own holiday lanterns for your home is actually pretty easy to do. All you need is a clean empty jar with a smooth surface, some sparkling glitter, mod podge, some twinkle lights, and your favorite StyleTech Craft vinyl.
One of my all-time favorite StyleTech Craft lines of glitter is the Luster Vinyl. Luster Vinyl is made using the same film used in vehicle wraps. Luster vinyl offers a satin finish that isn’t quite glossy but not quite matte and looks perfect over the top of a glitter lantern!

How To Glitter Inside A Jar
Glittering inside of a glass jar is a lot easier than you think. All you need is some mod podge, a foam brush, and some extra sparkly glitter. I prefer to use the extra fine glitter. There are many bright bold colors to choose from.
Give the inside of your jar a generous coat of mod podge. While it is still wet, pour in a bunch of extra fine glitter and swirl it around the jar. Dump out any excess glitter onto a paper towel. You can pour it back into the glitter jar so you are not wasting any.
Let it dry completely.
If you see some streaking, repeat the mod podge/glitter process one more time. Once you are satisfied with the coverage, do one final coating of mod podge to seal all of the glitter. I have also done this with ornaments and floor cleaner, you can see that process HERE.
Adding Luster Vinyl To Glass!
Glitter Lanterns are beautiful on their own and are perfectly fine. If you want to take your glitter lanterns to the next level, you can add a little winter bling to the outside.
This is where my favorite StyleTech Craft Luster Vinyl comes in. The shine from the vinyl is just right against the sparkle of the glitter. There is a shine, but it is a dull shimmer.
I cut a winter scene using Cricut Design Space with cute deer and winter trees. I resized the image so it would wrap around the entire jar. I also did a few for Christmas Lanterns using red and green for the holly vines and the wreath.

I always associate glitter with the holidays, but truth be told, you can make and use glitter lanterns for any and all occasions. Birthdays, Easter, Friday! You name it, with StyleTech Craft Vinyl and your Cricut cutting machine, there is no end to what you can create for your home.
