How to Make Avocado Butter

“With enough butter, anything is good,” Julia Child once said. And she was right. But what could be better than butter? You got it! Avocado Butter.

Avocado Butter is the newest (and greatest) thing I’ve come across. I first came across this butter recipe when my family ordered takeout. Imagine my surprise when the side of butter showed up green!

Since then, we’ve been a bit obsessed in our home with anything that includes both butter and avocado. Because really, aren’t they two of the best foods in life?

Even if you don’t agree, trust me on this one. This DIY avocado spread recipe is the bump your morning, evening, or afternoon toasts needs.

What is avocado butter made from?

Avocado Butter is made from a compound (think mixture) of avocado and butter.

Some recipes you find online instruct you on how to actually make the butter in this avocado-butter duo. But to be honest, I don’t have time for that.

When it comes to butter, I’m a die-hard Kerrygold Butter fan. In my humble opinion, there is nothing better than Irish butter. So why try to reinvent the butter wheel?

What is compound butter?

Compound butter is simply one of those fancy-schmancy culinary terms for what I’d like to call: butter with stuff in it.

The funny thing is that I was making compound butter before I had even heard of the term.

My go-to hack for delicious pan-fried steak is finishing it with some compound butter.

Is avocado butter healthy?

Sure, avocado butter is healthy. We all know the pros and cons of butter. It’s not bad for you, as long as it’s used in moderation.

Avocados on the other hand are crazy healthy. For everything from your hair to your heart. So if you think about it, the avocado in this recipe is simply raising the health quotient.

  2. Avocados are good for heart health
