Creating Personalized School Supplies
When it comes to school supplies or office supplies, having them personalized or specifically made just for you is not only special, it will make a statement. Creating something that is beautiful and one of a kind is easier than you may think. If you have a Cricut
or a Silhouette
cutting machine, you can personalize just about anything.
As I have said in the past I am a fan of Cricut Design space. With over 90,000 images to choose from you are sure to find something that speaks to you. Let your imagination go wild, you can personalize everything from office supplies to wall art.
Choosing the right adhesive vinyl
When it comes to choosing the right adhesive vinyl for your personalized projects, I highly recommend StyleTech Craft vinyl. At StyleTech Craft you can find everything from Ultra Metalic Glitter vinyl to Clear Transparent vinyl, and everything in between. For my personalized school supplies, I decided to use Glossy Vinyl. The quality is outstanding and the colors are vibrant and beautiful. I also used glossy vinyl a few months ago on my Indoor Mini Herb Garden. After months of use and being exposed to water the vinyl is holding up beautifully. The plants, not so much. I think I need to take a few gardening lessons or something.
Decorate Your School Supplies
What you will need:
School or Office Supplies of your choice
- 1 Subject Notebook
- Plastic 2 Pocket Folder
- Plastic Pencil Case
- Decorative Pens & Pencils
Transfer Paper
Create, Cut, and weed your vinyl designs.
Transfer your designs using transfer paper. Transfer paper is slightly less sticky than the traditional transfer tape, and will not pull on the paper notebook cover.
*Cricut Tip – Cutting Multiple Colors on The Same Mat
If you want to save time, space, and vinyl, you can sort your cut files by color while still in design space. Group like colors together and use the grid lines in the design space to determine the size you need to cut your vinyl. If you look at the image above, I have placed all of the yellow pieces of the pineapple together and all of the green pieces together.
You can also see that the yellow will go 5 inches down the mat and the green will start below the 5-inch mark.
Click “select all” to highlight all of the items. Then click “Attach“. All of the images will turn the same color on your screen, just be sure to pay attention to the sizes on the grid to determine the size of each color.
