Handmade Graduation Poster Ideas {Cricut Poster Board Projects}

Making your own graduation party decorations is a fun way to personalize your decor to focus on the graduate. This Handmade Graduation Poster Collage is the centerpiece of the main table at our graduation celebration. With a little help from my Cricut and StyleTech Craft vinyl, I was able to put this photo collage together in no time.

Y’all, this post for me is a little bittersweet. I am super excited and such a proud mama that my baby (of 4) is graduating high school this year. The last one to grow up and start a life as an adult. Where did the time go? On the other hand …

Woohoo .. the baby (of 4) is the last one to grow up and start a life of his own!!

Isn’t it funny how the same sentence can mean two totally different things when you change up the tone of your voice? I truly am very proud of him and all of my children for what they have accomplished in life. Looking back at the images on this graduation collage really brings everything into perspective.  This was a fun project to personalize and create. I hope you enjoy it.

Creating In Design Space

Having the Cricut Access monthly subscription has been one of the best investments for me personally this past year. With over 60 thousand images, there is almost always the perfect image that is needed for any project I may be working on. This graduation project is no exception.

I found all images, fonts, and frames within the design space files. Simply search for “graduation“, all of the images will show on your screen.

Add some fun paper frames and shiny glossy or glitter vinyl to accent all of the adorable photos.

Please note – StyleTech Craft Vinyl is not acid-free and not safe to apply directly to your photos. However, feel free to use the bright fun colors to add detail to your scrapbook pages and posters for celebrations.

Larger Than The Mat Cricut Projects

Did you know that you can create cut files that are larger than the standard 12 x 12 mat size? Sure you can also purchase a 12 x 24 mat for your Cricut if needed.

If you don’t have access to a 12 x 24-inch mat, or would like to make a project even larger than that, you can still make that happen with a few clicks in design space.

Once your image is created, in this case, it was our Congratulations text. You will want to weld everything together that is included in the larger than the mat cut.

After everything has been welded, click the shape button and add in a square. Resize that square to 11.5 x 11.5 (the standard cut size for a normal mat cut)

Using that square, place it on top of the larger than the mat image you wish to cut. Once you have it in place, select the image and the square and select slice. This will then slice the image into as many pieces as you need. Delete the square and the 2nd “shadow” layer of the cut piece.

When applying the pieces together use a ruler or something to guide you so your application is straight. My letters were my guide for this one and went together easily.
