Shopping For Your Game Day Party

When it is time to shop for your party food, plan your menu and save time by shopping in one place. For me, I always choose Giant Eagle for my game-day favorites. Fresh produce, incredible meat selection, comparable prices and of course convenience.

The star of my menu is my Sweet and Tangy Dr Pepper Sauce. I didn’t want to put it on any old boring hot dog. I chose to pick up some Eckrich Smoked Sausage® for the grill. The rich, savory flavor of the smoked sausage would go perfectly with the sauce. Both of which I picked up right at Giant Eagle. They are also easy to prepare, which also cuts down on spending time in the kitchen.

Sweepstakes!

Dr Pepper and Eckrich are also running a pretty cool sweepstakes right now, just in time for your big game parties. Be sure to enter to win before time is up. Just look at what you can have the chance to win!!

●10 Grand Prizes each consisting of: Tailgating Tent; Portable Speakers;Folding Chairs ; 5-Piece Grilling tool Set; Beverage Tubs w/ Serving Tray; Tundra 35 Yeti Cooler; Kirk Herbstreit Autographed Football; Weber Grill.

When it comes to decorating for the big game, keep it simple yet festive. We have some FREE kick-off party printables that are easy to use. Or make your own with a few inexpensive items you probably have laying around your house already.

Focal Point of the table – I used a piece of black foam board for the center of the table. You can draw a fun saying in large letters using white paint. Add some X’s and O’s and a few direction arrows to mimic the playbook. It is eye-catching and fun!

Table Banner – I made the Game Time Banner with regular cardstock, using my favorite team colors! Just draped across the front of the table.

Table Cloth – I always seem to go with green to mimic the field. You can take it one step further and place strips of white streamers vertically to mimic the lines of the field too.

The Drink Station – Add a cute sign using an old frame and black paper. I added more of the X’s and O’s to match the big sign. Instead of just writing the word whistle, I thought adding an actual whistle to the frame would give it some dimension. Let’s face it, it’s more interesting and fun in 3D! Place it in front of a full ice bucket loaded with Dr Pepper!

Napkins – There is no such thing as regular napkins at a real game day party. Use yellow napkins for “penalty flags” and red napkins for “challenge flags“.

Game Day Food!

The best, most practical game day food can be held right in your hand. There is no need for utensils and a fancy meal for this party. We are here to cheer and scream for our favorite teams, not place a napkin in our lap and use a knife and fork. But, if you are into that sort of thing … I won’t judge!

Burgers and sausages are usually a staple for any tailgating or game day party. Sliders are a great substitute for a big messy burger. I like to make Sliders For A Crowd. It’s easy and once again you aren’t spending hours in the kitchen or at the grill.

I love a good hot dog, but what I really love is Eckrich Smoked Sausage on the grill. Something about the rich, savory flavor with the smoke from the grill just makes me happy. Add some delicious toppings to your smoked sausage, and all your guests will be cheering.

Sweet and Tangy Dr Pepper Sauce

Since Dr Pepper is the official drink of college football fans, how could I not add it into our game day party. Did you know there are actually 23 flavors in Dr Pepper?
