I always think of summer fun when I see bright, colorful watermelon decor. Something about the colors, the scent, and the flavor take me back to childhood cookouts and loads of family fun. When it was time to pull out the summer gear, I just knew I needed to make a set of fun glasses for all of the front porch sittin’ this year.

Where can I find watermelon images to make drinking glasses?
If you are a member of Cricut Access, there are over 60,000 free images for you to use, including some super cute watermelon images and other fruit designs.
The ones I am using for my glasses I found for free over at Hey, Let’s Make Stuff They included all of the designs that I loved and wanted to incorporate in my watermelon summer theme.
What kind of glassware can you apply vinyl to?
Anything with a smooth surface is great for applying vinyl. I used a plain white coffee mug for the I Love You More Than Coffee gift and round wine glasses for the Glitter Dipped Mermaid Drinking Glasses. These tall Ice Tea Glasses
were the perfect canvas for the watermelon designs.
What kind of vinyl can you use for drinking glasses?
You want to use a vinyl that is permanent when you are making something that will need to be washed. StyleTech Craft has a few options to choose from, including glossy vinyl, transparent glitter vinyl and transparent solid vinyl which is what I am using on the watermelon glasses.
How do I cut multiple of the same image on Cricut Design Space?
Directions For Cricut Users:
When you want to cut multiples of the same image, just select the item you want, and hit duplicate as many times as you need. Rearrange the object on your screen so they are close together so you are not wasting vinyl.
You can also do this for multiple objects. Simply select all of the same objects once they are arranged closer together and select attach. This will keep the group of objects in one place. Do the same for the next set of objects, just be sure to make them a different color so design space knows which ones to cut together.
Is vinyl on drinking glasses safe for the microwave?
Unfortunately, any items decorated with vinyl cannot be put in the microwave, your vinyl will melt. Most vinyl is also not food safe (any surface where the food or drink touches should not have vinyl) or dishwasher safe unless specified by the manufacturer.
