Where did the time go? This year has absolutely flown by! I know I say that every year, but seriously, I feel like we were just getting started with summer then BAM! Christmas is right around the corner.
Embracing New Beginnings!
With the end of one year comes the beginning of another. A chance for a fresh start, and a clean slate. New Year’s Eve has always been that way for our family. Embracing traditions, celebrating the new, letting go of the old. Now that the boys are older, we can let loose a little more. From hot cocoa to champagne, from cookies to appetizers. I must admit, I am one of those parents that enjoy their children growing up. The time we spend together is just perfect.
New Year’s Eve Celebrations!
Even though we have advanced from hot cocoa to champagne, we still like to keep it simple. A cozy night in, great food, the ball drop ceremony on the tv, close family and great friends are all we need for the perfect New Year’s Eve celebration.
Decorating for the New Year!
Traditional decorations are perfectly fine for us. Party hats and noisemakers are a classic. This year I wanted to add a little more bling than normal, and I knew using Styletech Craft’s Ultra Metallic Glitter on our New Years crafts would add the perfect touch.

Easy DIY Paper Champagne Glass Tags!
Supplies Needed
- Cutting Machine or circle template (I used my Cricut Explore Air2
) - Glitter Cardstock
- StyleTech Craft’s Ultra Metalic Glitter Vinyl (I used Mint 132)
- StyleTech Craft’s Paper Application Tape

Create your design in Design Space. I made the circles 3 inches in diameter with a center circle just over one inch.
Find and personalize the designs you wish to use on your paper champagne glass tags. The images I used were all part of Cricut Access. Some I manipulated to fit the tags better. I searched for “clock”, “cheers”, and “wreath” to find the three images I used on this design.
Cut your circles from the glitter cardstock, cut the design details on StyleTech Craft’s Ultra Metallic Glitter Vinyl.
Once your designs are cut, weed out the excess vinyl and apply to the glitter cardstock circles using a paper application tape.
*Tip: When applying vinyl to cardstock, using the paper application tape is best. It is not quite as sticky as regular application tape, and there is less of a chance of the cardstock ripping from being stuck to the tape itself.
Once your designs are added to the cardstock circles, attach them to the stems of the wine glass and enjoy your New Year’s Eve celebration!
Take this project one step further and personalize each one with your guest’s names on them. It will be a fun twist to this project. Anything personalized is always loved.
I also added a small matching decal to the champagne glass itself to tie everything together. Things just work better when they are matching, don’t you agree? Just look at how much sparkle is in that tiny decal. That is why I LOVE the Ultra Metallic Glitter Vinyl. Everything is better with bling!
