Who doesn’t love pizza!?
I have never met anyone that didn’t love a good pizza pie! With two teenage boys, we eat pizza at least once a week. Having said that, two teenage boys have quite a big appetite and can consume a large amount of pizza in one sitting.
Going out to the local pizza place is not always an option. Making your own pizza at home is not only cost-effective, but it also tastes so much better! You can add on as much or as little of your favorite toppings as you like.
Homemade Pizza Dough – Easy and Flavourful! Better than delivery!

That is all the time you will need to have thick, flavorful pizza dough with just the right amount of chew. Topped with your favorite toppings, you are sure to please the whole house on Pizza Friday!
Helpful Pizza Making Kitchen Tools:
- Round Non-Stick Pizza Pan
- Stainless Steel Pizza Wheel
- 16″ Round Pizza and Bread Stone
- OXO Good Grip Pizza Server
- Chef’s Pizza Apron
Ingredients:
- 3 1/2 to 4 cups flour, plus more for kneading
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 envelope instant dry yeast
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 Tbs garlic powder
- 1 1/2 cups water, 110 degrees F
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus 2 teaspoons
Mix together the flour, sugar, yeast, salt and garlic powder in your mixer bowl and combine.
While the mixer is running, add the water and 2 tablespoons of the oil and beat until the dough forms into a ball.
If the dough is to sticky, add more flour, 1 tablespoon at a time until the dough comes together into a ball. If the dough is too dry, add a little more water, 1 tablespoon at a time.
Scrape the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead into a smooth, firm ball.
Grease a large bowl with the remaining 2 teaspoons olive oil, add the dough turning once to coat. cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a damp towel and put it in a warm area to let it double in size, about 1 hour
*Tip – Before starting to mix your dough, preheat the oven to 175 and turn it off. Place your covered bowl into the warmed oven. This will give your dough a warm place to rise.
Just look at all those glorious pockets of air! That is from the active yeast. This means a flakey, chewy crust, just what we are looking for.
After the dough has doubled in size, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and divide it into 2 equal pieces. Cover each with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let them rest for 10 minutes.
Roll out your dough. Use your hands to shape the dough to fit your desired pan. Gently press your dough onto your baking pan.
Add your favorite marinara sauce (We use the BEST 20 Minute Marinara Sauce) and toppings for a wonderful quick & easy dinner at home!

We love to make our own pizza, but I’ve never made my own dough. I always get my dough fresh from a little Italian shop. I will have to give your recipe a try. PINNING! 🙂

We always did the same. Either the local pizza place or even the grocery store. When we moved here to WV no one offers that so we had to get creative (or use pilsbury) I opted for the creative. I do hope you give it a try. Thanks for stopping by!
We grew up having dinner together at the table, so happy that families still do that. Communicating with the teens can be challenging sometimes. Food does bring the family together, doesn’t it!
